Blue Boy was surrendered to GAIN by his owner on Guam so was part of the airlift rescue of the racers left after the close of the local track. When Blue was returned he was emaciated and obviously a case of neglect yet his happy go lucky spirit remained. When he gets back to his preferred “pet” weight, Blue will be an average size male. He’s friendly, wonderful with children and very tolerant of other dogs. He’s terrific on leash and will make some lucky family a gentle, loyal companion.

Charlie is a fun loving, active guy who is affectionate and enjoys attention. He’s a recent transplant from Guam and is learning the ropes of pet life. Dusty is a beautiful black boy from Guam who’s a diamond in the rough. He’s a friendly guy who enjoys following his humans around yet he doesn’t appreciate his space being invaded by other dogs. Giselle has recently arrived from Guam and she’s feeling her oats after her 3 day journey. She certainly doesn’t act her age. She’s a real people dog; sweet, affectionate and loves attention. Crabman (aka Manny) is one of our recent Guam rescues and he’s quickly gotten his land legs here on the mainland. He’d do well as part of a family where he can go places & do things as part of the gang.

Beautiful Nadia is another of our Guam transplants who is loving and sweet. She is strong, pulling on the leash when she is over excited about going for a walk so she’s working on getting more calm about all the new things she’s experiencing. She loves to RUN and play however she has recently tested positive for Heartworm so her activity level will have to be restricted while she undergoes treatment! Nadia really is a darling girl who’s not totally confident but she’s so gentle and wants to be in her human’s lap.

Lovely little 55 lb Pearl has a personality that is very endearing once she trusts enough to let it shine through. She endured terrible conditions at the race track in Guam and had lost most of her fur by the time she was turned over to the Guam Animals in Need shelter. She spent 3 weeks in foster care, getting her skin cleaned up and putting on some weight. Her fur has almost completely grown in yet her skin is still dry. With continued love & good food, Pearl will be a beautiful, shiny coated girl in no time. She’s been in our foster program since May 5th and has come a long way. She’s wonderful with the other greyhounds and even tolerates the resident puggle dog. Pearl is affectionate and is learning all about pet life. She’s a gem deserving of the best home where she will be loved and cared for.

Ruby is a gentle little lady who’s one of our Guam rescues. She was terribly neglected after she was given away by the race track in Guam. She arrived at the GAIN shelter in deplorable condition; very underweight and covered in filth. Ruby arrived here on the mainland on May 9th. She’s still too thin and needs to put on some weight but she’s loving & sensitive, craving affection. She’s a precious girl who deserves to know the better things in life. She’ll be a lovely friend and devoted companion to the people lucky enough to win her heart.

Sloy has just arrived from Guam (yes the Island of Guam over 6000 miles away) as part of the massive rescue where over 100 ex-racing greyhounds were air lifted to the US mainland. She is a darling little girl who’s very curious and just scampers around looking at everything there is to see. She has a little bit of a timid side to her but it doesn’t take her long to befriend kind humans. She’s a dream to leash walk, is quiet as a mouse and loves to ride in the car. She’s met many different canine breeds and though uncertain at first, is quick to become comfortable in their company. She’s a very sweet, special girl who deserves a wonderful forever home!!

Fisher is a stunning 3 yr old fawn male who’s the “class clown”; a lab in a greyhound body. There’s never a dull moment with Fisher as he loves checking out any noise or new smell. He gets along well with all other dogs and enjoys the company of children yet his effervescence might be a bit too much for small children. He thrives on long walks and human companionship. Fisher aims to please.

Foxy is the cutest little 2 ½ yr old ginger girl with a white snout, toes and a big smile. She is a wary hound so at first she will seem cautious and keep her distance, but her curiosity will get the better of her and once she trusts you she will be snuggling up and rolling on her back for tummy rubs. Once she gets to know you, she is one of the friendliest greyhounds around. She loves people and dogs. She is a bright, confident dog who has experienced some bad things happen to her, so she is sensible to be sure of the situation first. She is gentle in taking treats and loves her food. Her leg was broken in a racing accident which required surgery for repair, but she's long out of her cast and walking beautifully.

Brindle girl Java (8) and her constant companion Mocha (7) have been together for 5 years. They were recently returned through no fault of their own and are looking for a new home where they can be together. They are gentle little darlings and will bring joy and comfort to anyone who is lucky enough to have them as friends and companions. Noddy just turned 2 years old and is a bundle of lovable energy. He and the rest of his litter were hand raised from 6 days old after their mother died so he has had no racing experience or training. He’s bright and affectionate, needing a home where he will get interactive exercise, mental stimulation and some obedience training. Noddy is a sweet, wonderful boy; a diamond in the rough, who just needs some polishing by a gentle hand. A fenced yard is a requirement of Noddy’s new home as well as a family who has lots of love, is patient and will work with him to make him the wonderful pet we know he will be.
